((Last Dash thread for a spell, until one of the others closes~))
"Okay, one more spin 'round this cloud, then it's on to the big finale!"
Her figure would have blended perfectly into the backdrop, had this filly not sported a fantastically rainbow mane and tail. Oh yes. None other than Rainbow Dash herself was tormenting Equestria's clouds today, both hooves outstretched as she tore around the fluffy mass. Since she had pretty much perfected the move, though, Dashie was experimenting. With a confident grin, the pegasus flattened out her left wing slightly, digging into the cotton-looking thing. Another spin later, and her trail had left an indent. It didn't look like much right now, but it'd lead to something else, if she could get it to work right. Clouds were fickle and liked to bounce back to their original shape if she wasn't fast enough. But of course, this was Rainbow Dash here. Speed wasn't a problem.
Letting out a quick, cocky laugh, Dash's smirk grew wider. The azure pegasus then re-initiated her spinning motion, this time climbing in altitude as she flew, pulling the cut of the cloud upward and seeming to stretch it out. After a few meters high, she paused and flew back to admire the shape... Eh, not quite right. Maybe she'd scrap this idea. It wouldn't be difficult to create the shape she was going for with speed, but the pillar of cloud just didn't look the way she wanted it to. Ugh. Making up new moves was haaaaard!
... and dizzy. Now she was just hovering, Dash quickly realised how much spinning she'd been doing. Her eyes whirled for a moment as the pegasus began floating absent-mindedly back towards Cloudsdale, not able to pay any attention to where she was going. So it stood to expectation that she bumped into somepony nearby.

(Thread back to business!)
As she bumped into said pony, not only did he trip over like she expected, the collision felt more like hitting solid rock. In a brown jacket and a lopsided smile on his face, she was facing Percheron Razorwing. The stallion looked her over, his smile stretching to both sides now, and more of a grin. The pony carried himself very boldly and very steadily, almost defiantly, but he was rooted in place very firmly.
The winged stallion was just spending his free time wandering Cloudsdale; the wondrous cloud city, contemplating his place in life. He was in the midst of wondering what kind of a legacy he is going to leave behind, discharged from the army and disowned by his family, when the rainbow-maned mare ran into him. Suddenly an idea sparked in his mind. He didn't know when his next assignment would come, and in this time he had now, he could leave his legacy in the thing he was best at.
"Well if it isn't Rainbow Dash," He said, "Best Young Flier of the year, and performer of the Sonic Rainboom." He spoke, his tone was not mocking, but rather surprised. "I saw you that day, and I must say, I was very impressed. But I forget my manners, Percheron Razorwing," He dipped his head in a small bow of respect, "At your service."

Rainbow Dash let out a high-pitched yelp of a noise as she hit the colt behind her, snapping back to reality. Freaking out, the pegasus whirled around to face the ivory stallion, backing off a few yards so they both had some breathing space.
"Omigosh, sorry!" She blurted, blinking hard as her eyes adjusted to the presence blocking out her light. It took her a good few moments before his identity really kicked in, but before she could even express herself, he was speaking. Percheron Razorwing; one of the most important pegasi of her time, and he had picked her out of the sky! Dash simply stared up at him for a moment, maw agape in disbelief, before her brain finally started to kick in and some vague excuse for words garbled out. "... Whooaaa, it's really you! Wh-what are you doin' out here?" She asked, wings fluttering worryingly fast as she tried not to let nerves get the better of her. Come on. He was here just to talk, probably bored, nothing else. At least she hoped.
Trying to calm herself down, a few old memories started to flit across her thought waves. Some of watching races, some of the old dogfights she used to go to before she started spending most of her time down in Ponyville. From what she could remember, Percheron was - or had been, at least - a regular for the strength contests, making him a pretty damn familiar face to the speed pony. How in Equestria he knew her, though, was mystifying. Well, not completely. From his greeting, it was pretty clear he'd taken note of her performance at the Best Young Flier competition, but still. That had been a little while ago.

Percheron laughed heartily at Rainbow Dash's panicked response, "There, there, you're not the first pony to try and take me out of the air." He said with a wink, "But, I do think you might as well be the one who succeeds, with proper training." He insinuated not so subtly.
"You know the Cloudsdale Aerial Dog-Fighting Tourney is starting soon don't you? And I find being the champion ever so boring at times." He flew around her slowly and gracefully, his rough appearance was very misleading, for he flew just as well as he always did, apparently his training regime wasn't as hurt as you might think. "Oh how I wish I could find a pony quick enough, with enough martial skill I could train to carry on the torch, perhaps even replace me as the new champion."
The Pegasus sighed, hoping his tactic would work, with Rainbow Dash's speed and determination he could train her to surely get past the regular rabble of competition. As a veteran of the arena, he also knew much about the leading competitors, including their moves, strategies and tactics. Yes, he could definitely work with her, and who better to continue his legacy than the wielder of the Element of Loyalty, that which he was most blessed with? She was perfect in every way. He would thank the stars for his luck finding her today, if he still believed in them.

Some of her nerves flickered into focus as Dash watched the pegasus circle her, paying close attention to his words. Was... was he serious?! He'd barely said 'hi' and now, unless her ears were playing tricks on her again, was offering to train her? This was intense! Any skills she could gain from Percheron would definitely help her gain the attention of the Wonderbolts, for sure! Resisting the psychotic giggle tickling her throat, the azure filly glided across his path, almost like an old fashioned stand-off. She was innately interested in his proposition, that was certain, but this was so out of the blue she almost couldn't believe her ears.
"Are you serious? I'm not dreamin', am I?" She questioned, eyes slightly starry as she glanced over his slightly ragged figure. Actually, the mare was pretty sure this was a figment of her imagination. Seriously, even if Rainbow Dash blew her own horn most of the time, that didn't mean that the champion of Cloudsdale's aerial dogfights would pay any mind to her. And not only that, but the colt was pretty much stroking her ego - honestly, since when did that happen in the real world?!

"No. If it was a dream you'd have won already," Traceur said as she stood proudly on a cloud, giving a rather mightier-then-thou pose. Traceur had actually been wanting to ask Percheron for the same not-so-subtle invitation to be his protege. She hadn't much practice in the dogfights, but she thought her physical work might give her a beginners edge and she wanted to learn fro the best. Not second best, the absolute best. Traceur hopped up and flew down to join the two, staying outside Percheron's investigative arc.

"And you are?" Percheron asked, unimpressed at the interruption. He turned back to Rainbow Dash, "Yes, I am serious, does this not look like a serious face to you?" He asked, exhibiting his always present frown at its full glory.
After finishing he looked back at the fit Pegasus, just as fit as Rainbow Dash, if not more, but Rainbow Dash had the speed to succeed, an ability to turn and maneuver at high speeds, and reaching high speeds as well. Why, Rainbow Dash could be as undefeated as he was with training, and the proper motivation. Not to mention, Rainbow Dash was already famous, she had already proven herself, and she was a black belt at Karate to begin with.
He wondered what this new pony wanted, and if it had anything to do with him, or Rainbow Dash. Perhaps on old grudge? Perhaps something else, who knows? Maybe she's the sister of someone he's defeated in a tournament who has come to challenge him to a duel... no that was probably how dramatic her entrance seemed. He disliked drama, he did however understand the need for theatrics, and could appreciate a good entrance at the right time. This time? Meh.
His mind wondering again, he snapped back to reality, asking once more, "And you are?"

"Traceur the Free Galloper," she said, title and all, smiling proudly at herself, "Credentials follow the title. Free Galloping champ four years running and wanted to branch out. I figured if I was going to learn about dog fighting, I want to learn from the guy that knows it all, ala, you," she said, pointing a hoof at Percheron. She talked as if RD was a bystander in all this, not actively blowing her off, just focused on Perch.

The brash Pegasus definitely wasn't impressed by the intrusion, either. Here Percheron had turned up, having clearly sought her out - or at least made the effort to go over and strike up the conversation - and now some hotshot was stealing his attention away! A sharp burst of heated air shot from her snout as her fuchsia eyes narrowed on the stranger. The other mare may have been talking to Perch, but this involved her now, too.
"Hey, what do ya think you're doing?! We're talkin' here!" Dash snapped, an indignant tone to her voice. Wings beating furiously, the mare lurched forward in some kind of attempt at intimidation, almost to say 'if you want a fight, I'll give you a fight'. This was her invitation, and no two-bit pony was going to take that from her! With a not-quite-cough sound, the unruly pegasus turned to her ivory companion, a mad grin of sheer overconfidence plastered on her face and a hoof pulled up to her chest. "Percheron, I'll take that challenge!"

"Hmm..." Percheron tapped his chin, he already chose his champion, this newcomer was very brash coming over here, "And, may I ask what makes you think I should accept you? I am looking for a promising champion, someone who can eventually take the trophy from ME. And there hasn't been one of those yet." He motioned a hoof at Rainbow Dash, "She helped best both Nightmare Moon AND Discord, also won the best young flier competition in Cloudsdale, and has a black belt in Karate. What are your credentials?"
The stallion gave a piercing look at Traceur, he will not waste his time on a showoff or a failure, he needed a pony with the drive, and skill to win. He had no doubt in his mind that Rainbow Dash could do it, but as for Traceur, well she hasn't showed him anything yet, anything at all.

"Yeah, I know you're talking to him.... I know that I can be better though." Traceur said. She didn't like to brag like this, but if Percheron was going to choose her, she would have to be bold lest she seem undeserving of the apprenticeship, "And I already said my aerial credentials. Though I am a PE teacher and physical trainer for anyone who wants it," she said to add to her repertoire.

Dash huffed - she would have stamped a hoof had she been on any kind of ground - instead finding herself drifting around the duo aimlessly as she tried not to deck the other mare. Who the hay did she think she was? Credentials or no, this was a private invitation; clearly Traceur had acknowledged that, and thrown it straight out of the window by her last retort! Honestly, it was taking all the willpower the filly had not to knock her out of the damn sky - and believe you me, she was so tempted - but a very quiet, Fluttershy-like voice was telling Rainbow Dash that Perch would probably be looking for some extent of self control. After all, you couldn't train someone who would be running off to throttle the locals every two seconds...
Actually, screw that. She had it coming.
"Get lost means 'get lost', idiot." Berated the pegasus. It took her nigh two seconds to reach the tan mare, and for an azure hoof to begin heading straight for the side of her face.

"Oh! An impromptu lesson then!" Traceur mocked as she saw Rainbow Dash zip right on over and try and deck her in the side of the muzzle. She rolled right, distancing herself before facing the rainbow-maned one, "Though I do believe Mister Percheron here didn't say anything about that now did he?" she asked, smirking softly, legs bobbing in the air in a way that suggested she may rather be trotting.
Traceur didn't make a move. She was on the same thought process that Rainbow Dash had (previously) been on. Don't try anything unless the big guy here said so. She flicked her mane idly, letting her already wild little manestyle look more disorganized.

Percheron observed lazily, he's going to have to do something about Rainbow Dash's temper, not because he was afraid she would deck random ponies, but because it obviously affected her combat abilities. A karate black belt with the element of surprise should have hit that mark.
"Rainbow Dash, calm down and get back here." He said evenly, studying Traceur again, "As for you, hmm, well you seem pretty intent to be one of my students, but I don't really know anything about you yet. How about we discuss this over dinner?" He asked. Though oddly enough neither his tone nor his face suggested anything unprofessional, despite the fact it was obviously an unprofessional invitation.
His gaze never left the athletic newcomer, on the desk in his head he began to form control exercises for Rainbow Dash already, and on the sides scribbling possible exercises for this newcomer, should he decide to also take them under his wings.
