( So creative It can go here for now)
Hakkou looked up from her drawing, into the dimming campfire. It was getting late, and she supposed that she had better get on to bed soon. Most of the other Saddles had already retired, but a few seemed to be challenging her to stay up later than them. She smiled a bit at that, they must not know how late her nights had run when she was alone...
They'll abandon you, just like before
The thought sent a shiver down her spine, and she tried to think happier thoughts. But for some reason, she couldn't get her mind off it. As the campfire flickered, the entire site seemed to dim around her. The scene was replaced by another, and suddenly, she seemed much younger. Back during school...
"Come on, come out and play!" One of the other fillies...shoot, what was her name? Something...Zypher Bolt, yes that was it! She looked up at the unicorn, one hoof still on her book.
"You really think that they'll want to play with me?" she asked. Zypher nudged her playfully. "Of course they will! You just have to be yourself!"
Time passed again, and she was older. Summer had come, and she was at flight camp with the other Pegasi. She had studied carefully, and was actually flying pretty well. She was so proud of herself! Without warning, several other colts and fillies shot by her, knocking her to a nearby cloud.
"W-what happened?" she asked, standing up shakily. She looked around for her school buddies, but what she found was a larger colt, his mane obscuring his eyes.
"What's wrong, little filly? Having some trouble flying?" he laughed at her as she shook her head. "N-no, I just..."
"Look at her, she can't even talk straight! No wonder she can't fly!" he cut her off with another snicker. She looked around for someone to support her, but they were all either staring at her or trying not to look at the unfolding scene. Her vision got watery as she backed away, then turned and fled the scene.
And then she was back at school, once again still in the schoolroom as everypony rushed outside for Recess. She looked up at the clouds wistfully. Hearing a gentle clopping, she turned to see Zypher Bolt approaching. "You okay?" the unicorn filly asked.
She shook her head. "I..I g-guess so." she stammered out. Why did she have so much trouble talking? "I just...I don't know. After seeing how Rainbow Dash stood up for that yellow filly, I wonder if there's anypony who would..." she trailed off, looking out the window.
"An-" Zypher started, before a cry from outside cut her off. "Zypher! Get out here, we're all going to play tag!" somepony called from outside. Zypher turned backed to her friend. "Come on, let's go!" she encouraged her.
"I...I d-don't know if I can..." she said softly. Zypher looked between her and the door, conflicted. "Well, if you change your mind..." she said, before galloping outside. After a few minutes, she trotted to the door, watching everypony play.
They weren't worried about you. They didn't care if you were alright. Once you no longer interested them, they moved on.
It was almost like a voice whispered in her ear as the scene hyperspeed, the colts and fillies all growing up and, eventually, going their own ways. Even Zypher Bolt didn't look back as she set off to parts unknown. And she...well, she settled down on her own, having so few visitors....
You already know it. That's why you abandoned them...in the end, they'll all leave you. It's only fair.
The scene changed once more, and Hakkou was sitting in front of the fire pit. But now, the fire had died out...a long time ago. When she looked up, all the tents and wagons were gone. She was alone again. Or was she? She thought she saw somepony out of the corner of her eye, but it was only her shadow cast upon a rock. It seemed to mock her in a cold voice:
You will always be alone...
Hakkou bolted out of bed, breathing heavily as she looked around the tent. Her heart was pounding, it had all seemed so real. Of course it had...the memories were real. It wasn't so marked as her dream had shown, but one by one, her friends had left her after she returned from flight camp...and then, when she thought she had found someone to trust, it was wrenched away from her. But that was her own doing...or was it? She shook herself as she laid back down, but sleep eluded her the rest of the night. That voice was still haunting her.
Always...
