The sun was setting in the sky, and the residents of Ponyville were preparing to retire. Most of the young ones had been ushered home for supper and to get ready for bed. A few of residents were still out and about, and for that select few, a curious sight would have greeted their eyes.
From the sky, pulled by several dark-pelted pegasi, was a royal purple carriage. Like Celestias, it was decorated, but with a silver moon motif instead of a golden sun. After passing over several homes with a soft woosh, the carriage drew to a stop in the center of Ponyville Square. Four earth ponies, as dark as their pegasus counterparts and wearing silver armor, exited the carriage and swept their gaze over the square.
Whatever was about to occur in Ponyville, it was clearly going to be big.

Story Weaver was visiting Ponyville. It had been awhile since he visited the town, and he wanted to see the sights. Perhaps the town could provide some inspiration for a story setting. The sun was setting and he was about to retire to the inn where he was staying when he saw something fly by, something big. He then saw the object, a lage carrige, stop in the town square. There stood none other than Princess Luna. As custom, Story Weaver immediately bowed to the princess, his mind wondering what the purpose of this visit would be.

Frost Hammer had just come out of a restaurant, and set off back to his smithy just outside town limits. That was before he heard the whoosh of something passing overhead. His head immediately snapped upward, and he spun, drawing a blade out of a hidden sheath on his saddlebag.
Then he stopped, remembering that this wasn't North Hold, and there were no wyverns in Equestria. Old habits certainly die hard.
He put the long knife away, and trotted to the town square, where he beheld an ornate carriage. On that carriage...hm, that must have been the other princess he heard about, what was her name...? Luna, he was pretty sure.
He smiled slightly, and stood tall and proud.

Dreamcatcher had wandered around Ponyville for a few days now, but it had sometimes been at night. During the day she had kept low, observing the ponies that were around during the day, judging if she could trust them or not. Her judgement though had come to her that they could be trusted, but she was still a bit hesitant to approach as she was unsure of how they would accept her. As she heard the sound of the wings overhead, she looked up to see the carriage, eyes following to see where it landed before she trotted towards the square to see who it was.
Seeing those that exited, she tilted her head a moment and moved from the shadows slowly to get a better look. She had never before met any of the princesses, but she had heard a tale of the Mare in the Moon, but it was a bit different from what the other ponies had been told. To her, Princess Luna did not seem scary at all.

Frost looked at Dreamcatcher and smiled widely, and he trotted over to her, "hey, Dreamcatcher" he said, nuzzling her and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "How are you, sweetie?"
He stood beside her, and looked at Princess Luna, smiling, and standing proud again.

Dream smiled and gave Frost a nuzzle to his neck. "I am well," she said softly, though turned her attention back to the princess that was near.
"Is...that Princess Luna?" she asked.

Story Weaver stood by hearing the other ponies talk. They seemed to know each other and he didn't want to interrupt their conversation. He turned his attention to Luna being here. "So Princess Luna is visiting Ponyville," Story Weaver said to himself, "It's funny how all the years living in Canterlot I have not ever seen or met the Princesses yet here in Ponyville when I just happen to be visiting Princess Luna is here."
Pondering the irony with a chuckle, Story Weaver waited for the princess to exit her chariot, wondering what she would say or do.

Crystal glass slippered hooves clopped slowly across the cobbles of city square as the Princess spread her gaze about the square and increasing the distance between herself and her envoy. She was pleased to see her subjects notice her entrance, she wasn't aiming for it to be subtle after all. A group of ponies had clustered together nearest to her carriage, three of them to count, to which she'd cast her main focus on. One of them had bowed as custom, which she had been pleased to see, but the other two just stood there and smiled. Had customs changed over the years she'd been banished? Her sister informed her of no such thing. No...all the other ponies had been bowing to her.
Stopping in front of them, she ordered the one who bowed, Story Weaver, to rise. "Thou hath pleased me with thine knowledge of how to present thineself, as custom dictates, to royalty. Rise." Then firing a more stern, but not too imposing stare to the other two. One was a unicorn with a coat to rival her own in darkness, and the other was exact opposite, and earth pony of white. Regardless though, they'd need to crawl into place. "You two. Thou doust not follow customs? Your princess hath brought with her an annual gift, surely thou feelst she deserves atleast a bow." Keeping her authoritativeness within her composure, she daintily offers a slippered hoof forward, intention to have it kissed like the rings of a king. "Thou art fortunate however, your Princess is forgiving, and she shalt overlook this forgetfulness. Tonight is a night of which it I that offer something unto thine hamlet, after all." Raising her nose slightly, she twitched the ankle on that hoof for good measure.

Frost Hammer refused to bow down and kiss her hoof. Point-blank refused. He was WAY too proud to show such submission. He instead bowed his head to her respectfully, "Good evening, Princess Luna" he said.
He then straightened up to his full height, taller than her by a good amount. The steely warrior pride of his culture shone in his eyes as he looked at her.

Dreamcatcher, being a native pony, had never met royalty before and had no knowledge of such customs, thus she did not know. As the Princess drew near and spoke, she lowered herself in a bow as the other had done.
"Please your highness, I do not know," she said softly, but as the hoof was extened, she did lean forward to kiss it softly.
She glanced towards Frost and watched, though had the feeling his pride would kick in. She still loved the stallion. Some customs to her were strange, but to learn of new lands was exciting to her.

Story Weaver was happy that Princess Luna had recognized his sign of respect. He learned about it of books on chivalry, and while he up until this point didn't have to use it, now seemed like a perfect time. "Greetings Princess Luna," Story Weaver said as he rose, "I am Story Weaver of Canterlot. It is an honor to meet you." He tried being civil while not squealing like a rabid fan pony in front of the princess.

Ah right. Immigrants. Some would expect them to try to respect the ways of their new residence, regardless of how they may be. If you're going to move to a new home, be prepared to adopt the customs. The Princess was satisfied with the unicorn's actions, perhaps a little above average, as she was considerate enough to inform her Princess she didn't know. But that smug earth pony needed an adjustment. How dare he go against her wishes, as she demanded he kiss her hoof not bow for forgiveness and on top of it, he dare proudly display his higher height than she? Right in front of her? Oh she was indeed going to see him crawl into place...
With but an authoritive nod to the unicorn she orders to rise, taking a quick glance to the other stallion, Story Weaver."Charmed as well. It pleases me so that thou art aware of how to act in mine presence. But fret not, despite how unimpressed I happen to be with others, I hath visited Ponyville tonight with the intention of delivering onto it something...quite sizeable...and I shalt carry out that promise forthright...but there be'eth one thing I feel I must do..." Her voice takes on a darker tone as she finishes her phrase, a slow turning of her head to face that taller pony. Her face remained devoid of emotion as she took a clop or two back and away from him, one of her night guards taking position behind her.
Craning her swan-like neck around to face him, she simply ordered "Bring me a line." With a terse vocal acknowledgement, the dark pelted pegasus returned to her carriage, while Luna stood idly where she was, keeping her unfaltering, stern gaze on Frost Hammer. "Thou thinketh that thyself is superior to your Princess? That you refuse to do what is rightfully so before her? And mock her with your smug smiles and belated bows?" In a canter, the night guard she sent off returned with a length of rope in his mouth, which Luna levitated with her horn, closing the gap between herself at Frost Hammer. The length of rope would flutter around and above her like an airborne snake, and she presented her hoof to him once more, with the same intention on having it kissed like before. "Thou hath been given one more chance..."

Cloudy had just gotten into her bed when she noticed a carriage from the sky. A royal carriage! Though half asleep, the unicorn sprung from her bed and levitated her brush to herself. Her raven, Phoenix, awoke from his bed of purple-dyed straw on the top of Cloudy's wardrobe. He gave an upset caw flew over to settle on Cloudy's bed. "Phoenix, the Princess is here!" That sure got Phoenix's attention, he perked up and began to groom himself. He too wanted to prepare.
Cloudy stood in front of her full length mirror and brushed down stray hairs from her mane and tail. After making sure she was ready, she put the brush back and began to hurry towards the door. Stopping in front of it, the unicorn looked back at her raven. "Well, are you coming or not?" Phoenix nodded and flew over to Cloudy, landing on her head where he stood proudly. "Good, let's go." The door was burst open and Cloudy galloped down the stairs as fast as she could.
Outside the unicorn already noticed a small crowd. Princess Luna was amongst them. But what really caught her eye was a certain stallion, one with a white pelt and golden mane. "Story!" Phoenix jumped from the unicorn's mane, surprised, and cawed. Cloudy didn't care. She ran over to the earth pony whom she had been waiting to see and gave him a short but nice kiss on the cheek. "Great to see you."
Feeling she had to now act more properly, she sunk into a deep bow. Cloudy had noticed that Luna was dealing with somepony else, but still felt that some kind words of welcome were appropriate. "Ah, Princess Luna. Wonderful to see you in our town. Your presence humbles us townsfolk. What brings you here during this fine evening?" Cloudy kept low to the ground, still in a deep and elegant bow, the likes of which she had perfected in front of Celestia. Phoenix was bowing as well, slightly stiff but still showing honor.

Frost lookled coolly back at her with his ice-blue eyes, and he said "I still gave you respect. A Norse pony bows before no one, not even his own king. Submission is for the weak, and we do not submit. We follow and respect one's leadership and merit, but we do not blindly submit."
He looked at Dreamcatcher and gave her a subtle 'you'll stick up for me, right?' look. He knew she would, though. They'd both stood up for each other many times.

Dreamcatcher soon rose once more to her hooves, she still had much to learn of certain customs, but she was of course willing to learn. "It is an honor to meet you Princess Luna. My name is Dreamcatcher and I am the Blackhoof tribe of the plains."
Watching her and Frost she fell silent a moment. She had come to learn that ponies from his land could be stubborn in their ways, but this was one point when he should not come to let his pride get the best of him. With his glance, she moed to his side and gave his neck a soft brush with her nose.
"Princess, as is custom for others to bow before you, some cultures show it differently. Because Frost did not bow fully like I or Story Weaver, it does not mean he does not respect you." she said, her voice holding a light, whispy, almost dream like tone to it. "We are all different. Different breeds, different cultures, different languages, but under our pelts, we are all the same."
