Bio:
Oya comes from a rather tragic background. The young gryphon was born to a low caste in gryphon life, but their simplistic world was happy, even without the abundance of “extras” that the blue collar hybrids had. However, their little home was struck with sadness when her parents suddenly became deathly ill. Without the funding to have doctors tend to the ailing pair, young Oya was left to find a solution to the problem, hoping she didn’t have to sell off all of the family’s meager possessions to do it. As it turned out, she wasn’t exactly the best at most of the talents needed amongst gryphon kind, and the richer folks more often than not turned her away, but she was able to find a few odd jobs doing grunt work for as many places as would let her. The work eventually wore her down though, and with no pity for her situation, she found herself jobless, penniless, and her loved ones weakening ever further. With desperation, she turned to the one thing that wouldn’t discriminate against her for her birth or gender…the underground fighting rings. It was there that she learned skills she never knew she had, honed herself into a tough competitor, and made quite a name for herself…along with the cash she needed to afford doctor visits and medication for her parents. But she had a feeling this wouldn’t last long, and the ring was busted one night. Fortunately, she made an escape undetected, but her name was well known, and the army would never take her with her b ackgroudn and infamous resistance to authority…it wouldn’t be long before she got caught. So she became a master of stealth, doing what she could to nab food for her family, and do what little she could to give her parents comfort…until finally the day came when they couldn’t hold on anymore. Knowing her life at home was done, and having no reason to stay, a tear-streaked and broken Oya struck out on her own, leaving it all behind her, and turning into a one-gryphon bandit and mercenary for hire.
