Red Moon nodded at Web's remark. "There were. But they were secluded to the area near the mountains. None were reported near the castle. You do have to be careful of cockatrices. I've spotted some recently." Though her words won't the most comforting, she had to warn them. As she finished, she shook her head and headed across the bridge. Halfway across the bridge, she jumped a certain section. "Watch the middle! Those four boards are rotten." she called over to the ponies still on the other side.

"Alrighty then, looks like it's my turn." Thunder pulled up his grounding rod and started to cross the bridge, but stopped when he got near the middle. He pondered the rotted boards, and reared up so that he could put his fore hooves over the upper ropes suspending the bridge. He hopped and planted his back hooves on the lower ropes, and shimmied across the bridge until he had passed the dangerous boards. He dropped back onto the bridge, and finished the crossing with a smug smile on his face at having thought of what he believed to be the weirdest way to get over the chasm. Part of it, at any rate. "Say, if we're talking about cockatrices, how well-equipped are we to deal with it if we DO see one? I have my lightning, but I'd rather not use it except as a last resort."

At least everypony seemed to be getting across okay - Red Moon was alerting the others to hazards, and they were mostly talking to each other. Communication was essential to any kind of group effort. She had to admit that their apparent lack of firepower was worrying, however. What had these ponies expected? They were currently in the depths of Everfree, traversing the ruins of a castle with no idea what could be lurking within - if they did run into trouble, she'd just have to hope there was more hidden beneath the surface that she could rely on. After all, Arc had asked for an escort for a reason.
"Come on, just up the slope!" The pegasus called, kicking away her doubts for the time being. Best to stick to an optimistic outlook.
"RRRUUUUAARRRRGGGHHHH!!"
That was, until she heard that. Stopping in her airtracks, the historian felt a shiver run down her spine. "Uhhh... I was imagining that... right?"
She thought it had come from the castle itself, but that was definitely louder than anything she'd heard before, even on her previous excursion. Maybe it had gotten out? Or maybe it was just the acoustics... An eerie environment like this was sure to throw anypony's nerves out of whack. Yeah, maybe she could kid herself that was the problem. "... C-Come on, got to, uh, keep going..."
