Lately, the mysterious Moon Castle ruins have been particularly quiet. Too quiet, some might say - but for one pony, it was deemed the perfect environment to explore without interruption. Now, the historian in question has hit a rather troublesome snag.
Something is lurking in the shadows. Having discovered one of the hidden sections and... whatever is contained within, Archaic almost instantly fled the scene, but has since requested aid in returning to the ruins. An escort, in a sense. Those interested in braving the worn castle should be prepared to defend themselves, and Arc, although other explorers are welcome. It might just mean that the group ends up galloping for their lives... again.
Those wishing to join Arc have been instructed to meet at the rope bridge before the castle, assuming ponies can brave their own way through Everfree Forest.
[ Special Rules ]
- Anypony is allowed to join this encounter. There is a maximum of five ponies, not including Arc, making a total of six. The thread may begin before all slots are filled, depending on how quickly it moves, so latecomers are welcome if there is room. One character per person.
- We will need at least one or two members of the group who can actually defend themselves. It can be physical or magical strength - or anything, really - just so long as we have something.

Dusk was one of the earlier ones to arrive, not having to make the trek through the forest on hoof. He gently glided down to the end of the rope bridge where he had been informed to meet. He didn't have much interest in finding anything in the castle, but simply to get an escape from town. What had brought him to this particular occasion was the fact of it being the Moon Castle, the mere name was enough to instantly grabbed his attention.
He only brought a small saddle bag with him, filled with some rations and a small enchanted orb that gave off a tiny bit of light he had bought in a pawn shop. He figured even he might need it since there might be no light at all in there.
On arriving he nodded towards Archaic as greeting and sat waiting for any others to show up.

Apporta teleported to the Everfree Forest. She had always heard of the Moon Castle Ruins, but then again many ponies did especially after what happened when Nightmare Moon was defeated. Yet Apporta wanted to do more than just hear about it. She wanted to see it! After hearing about how a historian named Archaic wanted to venture there with other ponies as escorts, this would be her chance. She saw two ponies and walked over to the two. "Hello. I guess this the group that's supposed to be going to the Moon Castle Ruins, right? My name is Apporta, what are your names?"

Web was reluctant to the offer initially, having only ever ventured the borders of the Everfree Forest; and even then with the assistence of the other members of his 'nomadic community'. Since the event of Nightmare Moon, the dangers have only exceled, and the purpose of adventuring minimized.
The offer was extended by Archaic due to Web's history of prior explorations, but never mentioned about family, or other, more qualified explorers. With reluctance, Web agreed to the exploration.
Along with the standard exploration kit, which consisted of a Compass, Sleeping Bag, Tent and First Aid; had also brought along enough rations for 3 days, and his music player for those dark nights of reassurance.
"I hope for Equestria that somepony is better Equipped for this journey"

When the offer reached Red Moon, she instantly wanted to come. She loved adventure and she also knew the Everfree Forest almost by heart. She had packed her canvas bag with supplies she would need. She headed out of her home and headed to the appointed meeting place. As she neared the bridge from on the side that led to the Everfree Forest, she saw four other ponies and broke into a trot. Crossing the bridge, she came up behind them. Hello. I'm Red Moon. This is the group going to the Moon Castle Ruins, correct? she asked, looking from each pony to the next.

[ One space left, ponies! Edit; Stick to a posting order or I will slaughter you all c: ]
The historian glanced carefully over the ponies as they arrived one-by-one, nodding calmly to each in turn as they emerged from the darkness of Everfree Forest. Not that they were out of it, exactly, but the cliff edge was clearer of trees, so the sunlight could glare through. Speaking of which, a wistful dart of her gaze to the horizon brought the sky's blue-pink hue to her attention. Was it really that late already? If they didn't get a move on soon, it would be dark by the time they even reached the ruins! Oh, she hoped she'd remembered to pack that torch!
Four ponies so far... admittedly, first impressions were giving Archaic misgivings. Granted, her cowardice trait had kicked in before she even had a chance to see the thing that she'd heard on her previous excursion, so in reality she had absolutely no idea what was waiting for them, but... As much as there was a chance it was something stupid, there was a chance it was something terrifying, and they needed to be prepared for that. It was to be expected that only other amateurs like herself would be joining this group, she supposed, attempting to disregard her initial judgements. They'd all made it through Everfree without apparent trouble - perhaps they were all capable enough. Celestia knew she wasn't.
"I would be Archaic." She began simply, attempting to acknowledge the introductions that had already been undertaken. Another brief nod was sent to both Dusk and Web Brancher, as a kind of signal that it would be a good idea for them to also introduce themselves properly. "Now, we're all here for a reason, and that is to traverse the ruins. I'm not sure how familiar any of you are with the place, but I would suggest that nopony runs off, just in case. The area I wish to concentrate on is through a slightly hidden passage, and the last thing we need is to lose members of the group into other, as-yet-undiscovered rooms."

"Dusk," was all he said in acknowledgement to the others. He wasn't normally a talkative pony, but he was being even more so than usual. This was probably the most ponies he had been around at once in quite a while and it didn't make him feel exactly comfortable. He remained quiet through Archaic's introduction. As she finished he slowly began to lift himself off the ground to hover, getting ready to go.
He finally spoke up one last time before they began, "Any ideas about what we're actually about to go into? Or any plans for that matter?"

"Well it's nice to meet all of you," Apporta said. It was certainly an interesting assortment of ponies. She hoped that there were some that had combat training. Apporta could defend herself, but not against a very strong foe. "Do you think we should say our talents? That way we know what everypony does in case we need a certain skill?"

Web nodded slightly, stammering slightly, then started an introduction; "Y..Yes, my name is Web", there was a slight pause, as if he needed to think through his next choicing of words, that or some mental slowness,"I guess my talent would have been my prior explorations around areas around Equestria, though ruins have been a first for me."
"I assume we have a local giving us some guidance to the area; the shorter the journey to the ruins, the better", their was certain hints of anger in that last statement, although it weren't noticable from the stance he was giving off; a sense of nervousness.

"Hope I'm not too late to join the party out here in the dead of night!"((I only see 4 ponies plus Arc...)) announced a voice from the darkness, accompanied by light humming, crackling, and popping noises created by a strange blue-white light that appeared to be coming from nowhere. The light flickered from existence with a final, loud, crack as the pony creating the light came into view, his face at almost exactly where the light had been coming from. He pulled a short metal stake from his bags and drove it into the ground as he introduced himself. "I'm Thunder Drive, pleased to make your acquaintances. Also, yes I know it's not actually the dead of night."

Red Moon looked from one pony to the next as they introduced themselves. Archaic- the leader, Dusk Reins- the shyer one, Apporta- the curious one, and Web Brancher- the reluctant one. She jumped slightly as Web spoke, forgetting that she was the guide there. "That's me..... I think..." Her words were slow. Uncertain as to why exactly she came. She jumped again as another pony appeared and began to shift uncomfortably. She wasn't used to this many ponies in one place.
((OOC: Sorry about the absence! No muse... D: And Red Moon IS the guide... right?))

For a little while, Arc let the others talk without interruption. They weren't that far from the ruins and the pegasus herself had explored the main rooms once already, so they didn't necessarily need a guide, but she supposed Red Moon's knowledge of the area would still come in handy. Especially if they were split off for some reason. She was a little shocked by Thunder Drive's sudden entrance, blinking as he appeared out of seemingly nowhere.
"A latecomer, hm? Well, Thunder Drive, we were just about to set off, so you're quite welcome to join us." Smiled the grey mare, her wings fanning out as she prepared to take flight. "I wouldn't say it's necessary for you to rattle your brains for every skill you have, but a general gist of your strengths might be an idea. Personally, I like my history books but, as you can probably guess, I am not the type who would hold up in a fight. That's why I asked for help in the first place. Now, it's not far, so let's get moving."
Gently kicking off the ground, the pegasus joined Dusk in the air, although getting into a full flight rather than a hover. Hoping the others would follow, Archaic glided across the rope bridge to the other side of the chasm. The ruins weren't far, but they would need to move as a collective to stay safe. "Take care on the bridge!" She called.
(( I know it's a tad slow at the moment but things will pick up once we're closer c: ))

As Red Moon answered, Dusk gave a slightly puzzled look. He had expected that their guide would be Archaic, but he had no objections to Red. His ear flicked towards the sound of Thunder's voice as it came through the forest, and gave him a nod in greeting as he came into view. As Archaic began to fly across, he decided that she was probably right and it would probably help if he properly introduced himself. "Like I said, my name is Dusk. Not much in the way of special skills really, I'm a pretty big guy I guess and can see well in the dark." When he finished he didn't follow Archaic's lead and stayed on the group's side of the chasm, deciding to wait for the others to finish before he flew across.

"Well I must say that is good to get to know a little more about those I'm traveling with," Apporta said. "I am Apporta, and I am a student at Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. I'm skilled in teleportation as well as knowing a few other spells."
She then saw the party making their way across the bridge and towards the castle ruins. Not wanting to chance her life on a rickety old bridge she teleported to the other side. There she waited for the others in anticipation of what she would find within.

Web acknowledged the responses from the others, although the only physical sign of that acknowledgement came from a simple, unnoticable nod.
He still had regrets about joining the troupe, not from what skills he had to offer; although it was still concerning, but from the dangerous lack of essentials that the group had brought along.
These were dangerous thoughts, and soon Web returned back from the minor spell of daydreaming.
"Apart from the journey itself, we do not really know what dangers could be ahead of us; weren't there reports of avalances back roughly a year ago?"
((OOC: Sorry if the response isn't too clear, only got around to answering at 01:17 am)
