Standing in a beam of moonlight in the decrepid ruins was a pony. Her pelt was black and she had a mane like that of the princesses'. Her mane was red and black. Her eyes, and autumn orange, stared up through a hole in the ceiling. A sharp horn extended off her forehead, gleaming in the light. A red moon, seemingly reflecting off rippling water, decorated her flank. Her eyes showed sorrow, yet gladness, as they gazed upon the silvery moon. She was thinking about Nightmare Moon, how she fell into that evil, yet, by the Elements of Harmony, she was brought out of that darknesss. That was what brought about the joy and sadness. Joy for her return, sadness for her fall before. Oh, how she longed to meet Princess Luna! A small smile fell upon her face as she thought of meeting her inspiration. Often, when she painted, it was of the moon and the stars. It was what she lived for. The night. The rising of the moon. The stars. They all inspired her canvases. Red Moon closed her eyes and pictured herself in the shaft of white light. The scene was perfect for her next image! But she knew better than to paint herself, so she tried to imagine Princess Luna there, only to find herself disappionted that she couldn't picture the princess. Never had she seen Princess Luna close up. How she longed to be close to the princess! To be her student like Twilight Sparkle was to Princess Celestia! It was her dream. Her goal. No matter how many canvases she filled or dreams she dreamt, she would always want that. Forever....

(OOC: I am going to assume that Guiding Light never met Luna for this thread.)
Guiding Light walked towards the Moon Castle Ruins, his horn glowing and a little ball of light hovering overhead. He wanted to go to the Moon Castle Ruins to try to overcome his fear that he felt when Nightmare Moon returned, a very frightening night for the unicorn. He hoped that going to the place where the wicked mare was defeated would do the trick.
In the distance he saw the shadowy form of a pony, but he did not know who it was. Was it Princess Celestia or Princess Luna, or was it Nightmare Moon? The later terrified him, but there was no going back. "H-hello," Guiding Light said in a somewhat frightened tone, "Is anypony out there?"

Startled, Red moon looked over. Her horn sparked from the surprise. H-hello, is anypony out there? Reached her ears. The tone of the pony revealed a frightened pony. Hello. she replied. She tilted her head and looked at the otherpony. She noticed the tip of the other pony's horn glowed and a light followed the tip. And what are you doing here? Her orange eyes flashed with the birth of another idea, but she pushed it to the back of her mind.

Approaching closer Guiding Light noticed that it wasn't one of the royal sisters nor was it anything that could possibly harm him like a dangerous creature. Instead it was a unicorn who looked just as confused seeing him as he did her. "Oh, so sorry I hope I didn't interrupt anything. My name is Guiding Light. I came here because... well... i was trying to overcome my fear."

Red Moon smiled at the stammering pony. Welcome, Guiding Light. I am Red Moon. She smiled at the foal. I came here for inspiration. The magesticness off the ruins at night create beautiful paintings. This time she tilted her head in question. What is your fear, may I ask? Her red and black tail rippled in a sudden chilly wind and she shut her eyes as it passed. It reminded her of the cold nights she spent in the Everfree Forest. How she enjoyed bringing her paintings to the towns of Equestria! Opening her eyes again, she let them fall on the pony in front of her, awaiting the answer to her question.

"I...um...came here to overcome my fear of... um... Nightmare Moon," Guiding Light said, being very nervous when he said the wicked mare's name as if the creature would suddenly appear, "I... was with my classmates in Ponyville during the Summer Sun Celebration when... she appeared. I was able to help my clasmates, but ever since then I keep having nightmares about... her. My parents are worried about me, so i thought if I came here where she was defeated, I wouldn't have nightmares anymore."

Nightmare Moon has long since left. Instead you have the great Princess Luna in her stead. There is nothing to fear anymore, young foal. Even Nightmare Moon can bring beautiful things. Just look up at the moon and the stars. Have you ever seen things so beautiful? I haven't. There is a beauty in everything. You just need to find it. As she spoke, she motioned to the moon and the stars. As she watched, a star of silver and blue shot across the sky. A falling star. How rare they were. Her eyes twinkled and as she gazed upon the beauty, she began to move her horn to an unheard rythmn...... Unheard unless you listened closely. Drops of water from the early rain, rustling leaves from the wind. Sound of crickets chirping nearby and the whistling from the wind in the grass. All these created the tune Red Moon heard. What she called "Nature's Lullaby".....

Guiding Light was shocked hearing Red Moon say how even Nightmare Moon does beautiful things. But he then looked up at the stars and saw a shooting star flying by. "I guess you're right. Nightmare Moon is gone, so I shouldn't be worried anymore. Actually the night is really nice. Heh... the funny thing is hat my magic ability works best when it is dark."

Red Moon smiled again as Guiding Light spoke. Where are you from, may I ask? It might be difficult getting back to wherever it is in the dark. Even with a light. She turned her head and looked at the foal again, awaiting his answer.

"Well, I live in Ponyville. Are you sure that it won't be a problem helping me get back?" One thing Guiding never wanted to be was a bother to anypony.

"No. Not at all. I'll just have to stop by my home and grab my canvases. I need to bring them into town to my store anyway. She smiled at Guiding Light and began to trot out of the ruins. We shouldn't stay here much longer. The ruins aren't safe anymore.

Guiding Light nodded in agreement as the two left the ruins. He wondered what Red Moon meant about the ruins being unsafe. Was it just that they were in such bad condition that they have become unstable, or were there other things that could pose a problem? "So, is your ability is being able to paint things using magic," Guiding said hoping to understand Red Moon better. Ever since discovering his talent, he wondered what other magical abilities there were.

Trotting into the woods, Red Moon looked back at Guiding Light as the foal spoke. Yes. I do use my magic to paint, but I also use it to protect me in the forest. I enjoy paintin the forest and its creatures, along with the night sky and the ruins. Your arrival actually gave me insparation. As she finished she looked back to the beaten path and swerved off it. Breaking through a leafy web of vines, Red Moon stepped onto a hidden path. It was well trodden as she used it practically every day. Looking back to make sure the foal was following, she headed down the path.

Guiding light followed Red Moon along the path, his ball of light helping to see. It was an interesting ability that Red Moon had. Guiding Light never met a unicorn that was able to use her magic to create art, although he knew that with magic anything was possible. What intrigued him was how showing up at the moon castle ruins. "It's nice that you can use your magic to paint. How is it that did I inspired you?"

As she pushed through another web of vines, Red Moon smiled at his question. Well, when you entered the ruins, I noticed your light. I had never seen a pony with that ability, so it gave me an idea. I had this idea of painting a pony in a shaft of moonlight in the ruins, but a good artist never paints themselves as the subject in the painting. You and your light would be the perfect subject! As she finished, she pushed through a thicker tangle of vines. As the curtain of vines parted, Red Moon stepped into a clearing. In the center was a large tree, much like Zecora's tree, only not as well decorated. The moonlight shon through an opening in the forest's canopy, bathing the two ponies in silvery light. In and of itself, the clearing was beautiful. Here we are! Come on inside, Guiding Light. As she spoke, she moved to open up the large, wooden door. Past her was a large room. There were rows of shelves on each wall, and, on each shelf, at least five paintings. In one corner of the room was a stack of finished canvases. In another corner, there was a stack of empty canvases. The other corners had tall, palm-tree like plants in pots. The center of the room had a small couch and table. The table currently had some left-over daisy sandwhiches on it. Great.... Black Sun was here. Why doesn't he clean up after himself! she mumbled to herself as she noticed the food. To the right of the door was a coat rack with a raincoat, winter coat, scarf, two hats, and a bag for her paintings. At the bottom of the rack was three sets of boots and a flashlight. At least he's gone now..... she mumbled again, not seeing her brother's boots or coat.
