"And that should be all Miss Vision." The estate agent held out his hoof. She enthusiastically grabbed it with both of hers.
"Well, thank you very much for everything! I think I am going to like it here." She waved as the stallion took his leave. Looking around, the pegasus was very pleased with her new home. She stood before a small cottage. It wasn't painted, instead it maintained a rather rustic appearance, every wooden beam and plank retaining its natural colours and structure. A simple door stood in the centre of the wall she was looking at. It sported a small window, a larger window could be seen to the right of it.
The roof was sloped and on it stood a tiny chimney. The agent had told her that as long as she was careful, the cute little fireplace inside would not be a problem. "Just don't try to burn more then one log at once", his exact words. A path ran from her door (a mailbox standing on the right of it a few yards down her front door)and connected with a larger path. If she followed the larger path left she would end up in Everfree Forest. If she followed it right she would end up in central Ponyville. The cottage was situated at the edge of the small town, which suited her just fine.
Next to her house was some bare ground. She couldn't wait to start building her little garden. Gardening wasn't her special talent or anything, but that didn't mean she couldn't enjoy it. Her crops wouldn't win her many prizes, but they were good enough to eat and that was what mattered. The one thing the cottage lacked was a fruit cellar or a storage shed. The estate agent had told her that she needed the mayor to get to agree before she could build it herself. Something about a plan and permission... She didn't understand why the mayor needed a plan. She already had one. Nickel Vision decided she would just write the mayor a note and put it in her mailbox. That would probably be ok.
Walking inside, the small living room brought a smile to her face. It was cosy, yet a bit larger then her last living room. She even had a separate bedroom this time! A very tiny room was supposed to function as a bathroom. She supposed the bucket was supposed to be the bath. It didn't matter, she preferred to fly through a cloud or just bath in a river or something anyway. Whitetail Wood wasn't to far away, there was probably a river running through there. She also expected there would be water in the Everfree Forest, but the agent had warned her that it was dangerous.
Rubbing her hooves, she decided it was time to get to work. All her suitcases and belonging had been brought to the cottage already. It was a bit expensive, but once she settled down she probably wouldn't need many bits anyway. She collected some of her gardening tools and went back outside. The little patch of dirt beckoned her, it was waiting to be turned into a lovely little garden. A big smile on her face, she began to work.
