Truly these were few and far between. The wonderbolt practiced more often than not, so days off were a rare treat that this pegasus made sure to enjoy when she got them! On this one she ventured out of her home in Cloudsdale to the idyllic streets of Ponyville, having very purposefully left her goggles and flight suit at home. Those were a dead giveaway, even if her flame-colored mane and tail served as a flag in itself, she would rather try to remain as inconspicuous as possible. Life as a "celebrity" wasn't all it was cracked up to be, and while she had dealt with it long enough to know what to expect, well...she still had a glimmer of hope that at times, she could be herself without all the fanfare.
This weekend there was a bizarre held in Ponyville, and it seemed everyone who had something or other to sell was out in the streets peddling their wares. The brightly colored stalls had just about any little knick knack you could imagine! Not to mention wonderfully fun toys for the foals that played chase around her hooves. She'd already spotted a few booths with some sweets she'd be picking up for Soarin'. He had an insatiable sweet tooth, but then again, so did she! This time of year the pumpkin baked goods were particularly catching her eye, and she began to make her way towards them.
So far, so good, as there were no squeals of "LOOK IT'S SPITFIRE! Can we have your hoofprint!?" Of course, she'd happily oblige should it happen, though extracting herself from the herd that might form afterward would rather ruin her hopes for the days events...

A white feathery figure stood out amongst the ponies around him, easily earning himself quite a few watchful eyes let alone the whispers around him. It was clear Gilda had left quite a legacy for gryphons in her wake as no pony seemed to want to go anywhere near him at all. He didn't mind though, he liked having his space--although this was quite a lot of space even for him.
As he made his way down the streets, the blissful smell of pumpkin produce met his senses, causing a glint to spark in his amber eyes and a quicker pace to grow in his step. Eventually however, he found the source of the pumpkin aroma, proceeding to buy a pumpkin pie, eat it in one then buy three for later. He asked the sales ponies to hold them behind their stall for a while until he was leaving, not wanting to get feathers in his bountiful pie horde.
After a few moments his eyes met those of a flaming maned Pegasus, a small grin on his beak. He recognised her - even the gryphons saw the wonder bolts preform - even if for most of them, it was so that they could mock the ponies themselves. Not Rustie though; strangely enough he enjoyed their shows - they always had such amazing pyrotechnics.
He realised how much of a scene he could make by speaking to her, let alone matching that with the attention he was attracting with his own presence, he was forgetting how much he would be towering over the equines-- Oh dear this did not look like his was going to end well.

Thunder was walking calmly through the streets, hoping to get to the square in time to watch the annual pumpkin roll races. A very large flash of white caught his eye as he eyed the stands of foodstuffs and trinkets- a flash that resolved into a large male griffon as he turned his head. Thunder had not been around for the Gilda incident, and harbored no ill will towards the creatures, thus he found the prospect of a griffon in Ponyville quite exciting. He saw the griffon eyeing something, and turned to see what it was. An orange pony with a flaming mane stood by a stand nearby, one who was fairly recognizable despite the lack of a flight suit and goggles; Spitfire. He knew her almost instantly because he had gone to a thing as a student on how the wonderbolts left those thunderhead trails, which part of the team had attended as guest speakers. Despite the fact that, if he had recognized her, then the griffon and at least one or two other ponies had as well, he decided to go try and strike up a conversation, and maybe with the griffon too. Plus, at this rate, she'd probably want to get out of the public eye soon, along with the griffon- judging from the clear area around him, either nopony liked griffons (most likely- the looks he was getting weren't very friendly) or everypony was afraid of him. That clearing might actually help him get there, if he was right about the griffon's object of interest. "... And they call me Spitfire..." Thunder sang, under his breath, as he approached the no-creature's-land around the griffon.

It was nice with the weekend off; he to acknowledge that. Even top athletes like him needed to rest occasionally, and what wasn’t better than to spend it in lovely rural town of Ponyville? That, and with the perfect amount of other pegasi that he wouldn’t stand out too much and of course the selling point – Sweet Apple Acres – was here. He simply couldn’t resist the wonderful pie of the Apple family. On top of it, it seemed like some kind of bazaar was going on, and that awesome! He grinned wide in delight, thinking about all the tasty sweets and goods he surely would find!
Shaggy, navy forelock fell in his eyes as he lowered his head briefly looking at the ground for a safe spot to land when he saw the tell-tale mane of his fellow team-member, Spitfire. Sheepish grin spread on his face as the light azure stallion gracefully landed with a soft ‘thud’, and started to trot in the general direction of the brightly colored mare. He didn’t hesitate, cocky attitude while in the public, he assumed he would blend in nicely without his uniform. After all, light blue wasn’t exactly a rare Pegasus color, and while none were quite as handsome as him, Soarin’ took it for granted that he could approach his teammate without problems.
“OH!” He nearly squealed out in delight as he noticed the pumpkin baked goods stall Spitfire was heading towards and picked up his pace as good he could without making a scene or drawing too much attention towards himself, besides it was more ponies here than usual he noted. Normally he’d only seen these kinds of crowds when the Wonderbolts were preforming, hah. If these ponies only knew that two of them were midst in their crowd, he surely would have gotten to the pies faster.
The flash of white and the sight of a gryphon made him gather himself and more forcefully bullied his way towards Spitfire. “Sorry! Coming through! Thank you, Sorry!” He said with a smile whenever he bumped into someone, so much for not making a scene. Like a bull in glasshouse the stallion was anything but graceful on the ground and silently missing his uniform that would have ensured his safe passage through the ponycrowd. Though, at last with his wings tightly tucked to his frame to prevent them from getting hurt, he caught up with the mare and whiffed out almost exhausted, it sure took its toll to be ‘regular’. “Hey, seen anything nice?” He asked Spitfire half-loud enough to catch her attention, flashing a winning grin.

Guiding Light was enjoying the festivities in Ponyville. He loved fall more than any other season, and this festival helped to get him into the spirit.
He went from stall to stall, looking at what the ponies were selling before having a nice warm apple fritter. While he was eating, he saw two pegasus ponies in the that looked awfully familiar. Walking closer he then let out a gasp in surprise! "Oh my gosh! Two Wondernbolts, Spitfire and Soarin, are here in Ponyville today."
He knew of the Wonderbolts and enjoyyed talking about them with his fellow classmates. He always wanted to meet them, and now was a perfect chance. He had to be calm, not acting like some rabid fan pony. He quietly approached the two and said, "So, are you two enjoying the festival?"

She should've known she wouldn't get very far without being recognized. She never actually made it to the stall selling pies, though she saw one young mare snag a lovely looking one...well, right before a clearing was made anyhow. That was thanks to a white-plumed gryphon trotting his way about the bizarre. She actually quite liked most of the gryphons she'd met. They were proud creatures, but some of the most superb fliers she'd met.
However, she didn't get a moment to speak to this one...yet. She first heard her name in song, and flicked her ear towards its source until her attention was diverted yet again as muttering ponies heralded none other than Soiarin's coming. He wasn't exactly the quiet type, and the azure stallion rather clumsily made his way to her, almost crashing into the gryphon on his way. That would've yielded spectacular results, she thought.
With a resigned sigh, she grinned at Soarin. This day obviously wasn't going to go exactly as planned! "Actually, I was just eyeing up those pies over there." she smiled and nodded her head in the direction of the pumpkin treats over yonder. No sooner had she replied to her flying partner than a voice drifted to her, asking how they were enjoying the festival. "Oh, hello there!" she replied. "It's quite nice...couldn't have asked for better weather, don't you think?" she made idle chatter, thankful that this one seemed to be pretty amiable despite knowing who they were!

The White beast was more than a little surprised when another wonder bolt tumbled in--Clearly not a pony for subtlety. No matter, it would be interesting to see how this all played out. With a quick stretch of his agitated wings , he craned his neck around to watch the group, his eyes met buy a young foal...A unicorn by the weight of things. Even Rustie could see the kid had stars in his eyes as he spoke to the Wonderbolts, It brought a smile to his beak. It was nice to see this sort of thing.
A feeling of being crowded washed over him as he felt yet another male brush past him to talk to the two Pegasai, Causing his smile to fade. He stretched his wings out again to move every pony away from him, Quite an easy thing to do when everypony gave you a wide birth not so much when they where all so close.
"Geez' give a guy room to breathe" He growled under his breath, not normally one to loose his head. Today however having everypony shove past him to get a chance to speak to Soarin' And Spitfire was ruffling his feathers. Understandable really but an angry Gryphon was a dangerous thing.

Thunder noticed two things; one, that there were actually several pairs of eyes headed towards Spitfire, including a large blue Pegasus who could only be Soaren by the way he bulled his way through the crowd, and Two, that the griffin he had almost bumped into was irritated by all the ponies around him.
Thunder turned around, giving the griffin a quizzical look as he surveyed the now only mostly open area around it. Maybe things worked differently in griffinland or wherever the snowy giant was from, but here when a lot of people had one destination, things generally tended to get a bit crowded. Deciding to remove himself from Spitfire's soon-to-be-a-problem, he decided to jump straight into the fire and instead bug this griffin. Sure, it was unbelievably stupid, but hey; if he got murdered, he'd go out with an incredibly irritating smile on his face. Best way to die EVER.
Because the griffin seemed to have a personal space issue, he sidled right up next to it and threw a hoof over its shoulder. "Well howdy, pardner! Welcome to Ponyville! I'm Thunder Drive, how you been doing this fine Autumn day? Enjoying the festival or whatever this thing is?" he exclaimed rather loudly as he put on the most infuriating grin he could muster.

“Sweet” Soarin’ had his moments, he’d gladly admit it if pushed or drugged. Naturally, otherwise he would never acknowledge that he was a bit of a brute and not quite as nimble on the ground as in the air. Well, of course, his heart was where his stomach was, and that was with the pies which hadn’t exactly helped much. Though the stallion ruffled his wing feathers and finally studied the busy market around him.
“Woah, hadn’t excepted to see one of those here today!” He uttered surprised as he actually saw the white gryphon, and didn’t just take him for an ugly pony. He was about the say something, when someone else assaulted the gryphon, causing the gryphon grin contently and instead turned his flashing grin to the colt that had recognized the two Wonderbolts.
Sure lots could be said about him, but the stallion had one weakness and that was young fans. He truly lived for this as he tipped his way around to stand by Spitfire’s side, bumping his rump against hers, in a ‘cheerup’ way and grinned at Guiding Light “Hey there Kiddo! I’m sure am enjoyin’ myself! Couldn’t ask for better weather, and those pies sure smell lovely! Dontch’a think?” Ever excited and energetic, the Pegasus raised his fronthoof up to his chest and winked him.

Guiding Light was excited that not one, but two Wonderbolts were speaking to him. it gave him comfort that these two ponies were not so far removed from the public, going to festivals and casually interacting. "Why yes, the food here is always great. I try to visit this festival every year. By the way, my name's Guiding Light. I live here in Ponyville." Ok. So far so good. Start the conversation light and try not to get giddily excited.

It would seem that two Wonderbolts in one place made for a bit of a scene. A few more ponies had gathered at the spectacle, which had taken away the male gryphon's former breathing room. She could only afford a simple glance over at him as her attention was taken by Soarin's words, but he looked nothing short of agitated, flaring his wings out to push away the forming crowd. She was about to politely excuse herself to save the poor snow-plumed creature not only from the ponies, but the ponies from him, when she saw one break away and seem to take care of the situation. With a blink of her honeyed gaze, she returned her focus to the young unicorn speaking with them both.
She could almost sense his restrained excitement, something which she smiled knowingly at, though she had a feeling only Soarin' would catch its meaning. He loved every chance he could get to indulge his younger fans, and was living it up. Spitfire was more the quiet type, but since it looked like things were gonna get a bit rowdy, she'd go along with it. "Well, nice to meet you Guiding Light!" she said with a flick of her flame-colored tail. "This is actually my first time at Ponyville's festival, though I used to go to a few back home." She replied, her eyes still flicking over a bit to see what was going on with that gryphon nearby...

To say the presence of the three had created a commotion in the busy bizarre would be an understatement. It seemed like the gryphon was attracting just as much attention as the two pegasi were, although Lyra wasn't as familiar with their identities as everypony else seemed to be. At least, without their uniforms she couldn't properly recognize them, even if their coloring probably gave them away to the rest of the ponies.
Only really having stopped to purchase some treats for a friend, the teal colored unicorn's attention had also been drawn to the scene. Particularly the gryphon, remembering how it turned out last time one of them were in Ponyville... But despite the way some of the other ponies were looking at him, he didn't seem to be causing any trouble.
At a diffident pace she made her way through the lingering crowd until she could get a better vantage point of him. Still unsure who the other two were that several ponies were now talking to, she focused on this other creature. Another unicorn was welcoming him, or at least that's what it looked like. Pulling passed the edge of the group, Lyra found herself unintentionally stepping into what little open room he had left. She'd be able to pick up the sweets later anyways, at the moment she just wanted to know what business was going on.

Looking down his beak at the encroaching pony, the gryphon's amber eyes flared. Now he was just trying to piss him off. Turning his head to face the skies as the colt spoke, Rustie gathered an idea, a crooked smile encroaching on his face. Clearly no pony here was going to leave him be, so instead he turned on his heels, picking up his grouped pies in a pack edge before craning his neck down, now at the ponies eye level.
"Your clearly an idiot so ill put this in terms you can understand. Learn some manners, Oh and its never a good idea to touch me." He growled, using a quick flick of his wing to free himself of the hoof on his shoulder before taking to the skies.
He did not fly far however, only to a nearby cloud that seemed rather nicely placed over the festival. Laying himself down on the soft white bliss he ran is own claws through is feathers, trying to rub off the muddy marks the colt may have left.
"White feathers are such a pain to keep clean, Oh well." He sighed, plucking a few of his more stained feathers, letting them fall to the ground and the ponies below.

"Can't say I didn't expect that, but oh well." thought Thunder to himself, as the griffon flew off. "Now what else can I do to him, just to keep this going? This is too entertaining." The griffon then proceeded to alight upon a nearby cloud. "Oh, he really is making this too easy." Thunder focused his magic on the cloud, building up a charge in the center. When it had become charged enough to make any pony's mane stand straight up for a while, he connected it to the griffon, shocking him. "And it's never a good idea to mess with lightning!" Thunder yelled over his shoulder as he ran away from the squares fast as his hooves would take him., grinning like a mad pony.
