He couldn't help but toss an unsavory look Draco's way. It was easy to ascertain that the unicorn had social issues, what with the passive aggressive lilt to her voice among other obvious tells. It was even more disappointing that she had invited the demure hybrid along with them -- but a second thought traversed his initial , blighted hope. If things went south with the unicorn, this...buffadeer, could be crucial for navigation. Clearly it knew it's way around the land, and it's submissive behavior was pliable enough for him to sink his hooves into and...manipulate.
" Si, another valuable addition to our troupe, for certain, " The stallion masqueraded with less animosity than before, giving Littlehorn a small smile. If he were too enthusiastic it could potentially ruin his backup plan. " I believe the saying is: the more the merrier, mm? I am Wild Card, mi amigo, " He brought a metal-gilded hoof to his chest a moment, then gestured towards the shaman nearby. " And this is Sagebrush. Not to cut such interruptions short, but I'd wager it would be wise for us to continue. "

He watched with interest at the little play going on before his turquoise eyes. Draco's reaction interested him, though in a much different way than it did Wild Card. Apparently there was more to this unicorn than he'd thought, but he stored the knowledge away. He was surprised that she'd invited the stranger along on this adventure that could very well get the lot of them in trouble...and was probably a danger to calf. His fearless leader, as it were, seemed much too willing to include the frightened youngster to their haphazard little herd, a quirk that Sagebrush alone probably noted. Wild could hide his purpose easily from those who didn't know him, but Sage knew better. He couldn't discern the reasoning behind it, but this was why he followed instead of led. Let Wild be the brains, he was content to be the backup.
He nodded as his name was mentioned, and smiled kindly at the youth. "Pleasure to make your acquaintence." he replied, using a fancier greeting that Wild had taught him. "What's your name then, young one?" He gently asked, since the rest of them had all been introduced.

His startled, aqua eyes flickered between the trio, utterly petrified. So they seemed friendly, but that didn't change the fact that both stallions were a fair size bigger than him, and - you know - there were three of them and one of him. The calf was severely outnumbered here.
The invitation to join them was unexpected however, and his ears couldn't help but perk up. It would be dangerous to head out into the Appleloosan wilderness, even for a group of strong-looking ponies. Collectively, they felt a little outlandish for Appleloosa, and venturing into the plains without real knowledge of what they were getting their hooves into would be less than ideal. Not that the buffadeer himself would be much use in a fight...
"I-I... I'm Littlehorn." He replied quickly, trying to find the courage to at least speak properly to these ponies. Glancing out to the horizon, and then back to the trio, he couldn't help but wonder exactly what their expedition was in aid of. "Uhh, I could, um, join you if you're sure... I, um, I'm not very strong, but I know the land."
