"I'm sorry to hear that," Major said, "but wow, that seems incredibly useful. I can't count the number of times I've had to go out in the dark on a mission. Torches don't just cut it, you know. It must be interesting, being an alchemist. I honestly don't know much about them, but I've heard that they try to turn other metals into gold. Is that true?"

Story Weaver stood and listened to the two ponies. Although he liked to converse, he figured he would get to know these two ponies better by just letting them talk. It was like he was hearing some pony tell him a story. After all, every pony has a story.

"It has been done, but it is very impractical" Shadow replied, "it is not as if you can take 8 ounces of lead and turn it into 8 ounces of gold; if that was possible, all alchemists would be wealthier than Princess Celestia. You would need at least 80 kilograms of lead or some other metal to make a quarter of an ounce of gold, and even then only if you are lucky. Also, the process takes months and requires incredible amounts of energy."

"Well, that does sound interesting, but I was wondering about alchemists in general. I don't know much about them, you see." Major says curiously.
"I grew up in a mountain village in northern Equestria, and it was always so cold there, it didn't leave much room for daydreaming, with work to do and everything. I was also talented in sports, so that put a serious dent in my schedule. When I had the time though, I dreamed that I was one of those mad scientists working in a lab with many multicoloured potions. Yeah, I may not look like it, but I was an aspiring scientist back then."
"One day though, when I was in a sporting competition, I was racing down the mountain when the ground started shaking, and when I looked back there was an avalanche, and before I knew it it had sucked me up. The next few hours were the longest of my life, and I was on the verge of falling unconscious when a shovel broke through the snow over my head, and an ERA soldier pulled me out. That's when I joined, and haven't looked back since."

"That is very interesting, Shadow, about alchemy. I only heard about alchemy in folk tales, and I up until now I never knew a pony could actually turn lead into gold. I might have guessed that it would take alot of time and energy to do such a task."
Story Weaver then turned to the ERA soldier. "Your story about how you became an ERA soldier is very chilling, lierally. To think you were trapped there under the snow for such a long time not knowing if you would be rescued. I can see how you wanted to help others in a similar situation."

"Yeah it was. Thanks, really. It was a frightening experience for me and everyone I knew. So Story Weaver, what about you? Any interesting stories you want to share with us?"

"I concur, do tell us of yourself, Story Weaver." Shadow looked at the other pony and smiled.

Having decided to leave her shop for a little bit of a break, Aurora hung the sign on hr store window saying she'd be back within at least two hours, the little hands on the clock on her sign showing a time when to expect the shop to be open again. Making sure she had all she wanted in the small wagon, she set the wagon for herself and took to the sky towads the park. She knew a lovely place to paint there and decided the day was perfect for it.
Flying over the park, she spotted the small group, one in particular she knew well. She smiled, but of course saw they were busy chatting and did not want to jus drop in out of nowhere. Instead, she flew just little further before she made her landing. Checking to see that everthing in the wagon was good, she moved to a clear spot and began to set up her easel, paints and brushes. She removed the bucket she had and trotted over to the fountain to collect some water.

"Well I'm a writer and storyteller by trade. I especially like telling fantasy stories. My parents used to read them to me ever since I was a foal, and it was no wonder that I was interested in them living in Canterlot. It was in school that I learned that I could not only read them effectively to others, but also to be able to write stories. the rest, they say, is history."
It was then that Story Weaver was aware of another pony who was filling a bucket with water from the fountain. "Hello," Story said to the pegasus,"Do you need any help?"

"That sounds so interesting Story Weaver! I can tell where you got your name. When I was young I didn't have much time for books, and I kinda miss that now. I'm so slow when it comes to reading, do you think you could help me?" Majorzed winks, then rushes over, to help Aurora fill a bucket of water.

Aurora lifted the bucket from the wae once it was filled with enough, humming softly, though her humming paused as she heard the other voice and noticed he other two that had come over to help.
"Oh..hello there," she said and smiled. "I'm alright for now, but thank you." She said and looked from one to the other.
"I don't believe we've met before. I'm Aurora Star, friends call me Aurora."

Story Weaver listened to Major Zed, amazed at how he admitted that he wasn't a good reader and that he needed help."I'm not really a teacher, but if you need help learning how to read I can try," he said to the military pony. He then met the pegasus who was getting the water. "Hello Aurora. I'm Story Weaver."

The journey to Canterlot was redundent, MareTec still had reluctancies to recruiting couriers for deliveries, instead using workers of varying professions to jobs they have no true knowledge of; in Webs case, delivering parcels to Canterlot from Manehatten.
What was worse was being told that the store in question had closed for a *lunch-break*, leaving the colt in question a couple of hours to kill.
"Let's check the park then, might meet a few interesting ponies here in Canterlot..."
After checking various locations, and even a fewtimes resulting in loss of location; Web eventually found a group in deep conversation, including two shadow coated Pegasi, a Military Stallion and an upper class Earth Pony saddled up for what could be a small journey worth of Miscellanous wonders.
Web was a notable distance from the group, waiting for some sign that he could join the conversation; or at the very least, be told to leave said conversation.

"Thanks Story Weaver, I can't wait to get started." Major Zed abruptly turns his head and notices a pony coming out of the hedges with the distinctive MareTec logo on his shirt. "Hey there! I was waiting for my new package to arrive, thanks! I didn't know you guys would go the extra mile to find me out here. You guys got my business now." Beaming, he trots over to the new pony.
