It was surprisingly overcast for Manehattan, even being a more polluted area. A blanket of grey sat nonchalantly above the prosperous city, the rainclouds having been gathered for today's scheduled downpour. As various other pegasi settled atop the cotton-like platforms, one particular smoke-toned pony fluttered into place, resting her hooves lightly despite her wings denoting her ability to walk on them freely. Ears twitching, Archaic waited intently for her cue.
"Ready, everypony? We missed yesterday's light shower, so today we're aiming for something a little stronger! Remember to stay in your lines! Three, two, one... bring on the rain!"
Literally springing into life, the pegasus hopped up slightly before sending a hard buck below her. The cloud, shaken by the force, began spewing water towards the ground, along with the various others that the crowd of pegasi had started from. However, each pony had a few clouds between themselves and the next, and they needed an even cover. Thus, a flutter of her slate wings and a single, quick leap sent Arc to the next cloud, which was also kicked with enough force to drop its vapour. It was quite rare for her to not have her muzzle stuck in an old tome, but the sheer expanse of this downpour meant a vast number of pegasi had been asked to help out. Naturally, she was quite happy to oblige, even if it did mean that her scavenging would have to be put on hold while the ground remained muddy. Equestria needed its water, after all. A few minutes later, the pony in charge piped up again.
"That'll do, everypony! Good job!"
As the other pegasi quickly dispersed to get on with their lives, Arc glanced up at remaining clear sky with a smile. While Trottingham wasn't exactly any better off - if anything, it was drearier - it was a strangely empowering feeling to know that the pegasi of Equestria were in control of it all. The weather made no moves without them... or at least, no major ones. Deciding that she had nothing better to do with her time, the winged filly took flight again, curling underneath the clouds to take a peek at the world below her. Nigh instantly, Archaic's entire body became sodden with water, not that she minded. Rain without the mud was quite refreshing~

A red mare made her way across the concrete pathways of the city, a Hood covering her face for the most part, although a glowing horn could be seen poking though the cloths crown. Surprisingly with a smile fixed across her usually so sour face, her happy maw Visible just through the adorned veil. The Unicorn was using her magical ability's to carry an umbrella above her head in a small attempt to keep herself dry although she knew really the effort would be in vein.
Draco loved the rain, especially rain in the city, its presence made the world so peaceful, a luxury this pony loved so very much. Its rhythmical drumming on the scenery that surrounded the female forced her to close the lids on her bright blue eyes, wanting to savour the splendour of its blissful sound. Once she opened her eyes once more, the sapphire glints caught sight of a flit toned figure in the skies above, the creature of what she could only assume to be a pony and she seemed to be watching the rain as well...Well to get up there she must have been a pegasi and most likely was one of he few involved in the days weather, Brilliant.
After watching the pony for a few moments, the filly made her way more towards the Grey fillys line of sighs, waving a hoof to try and catch her attention. "Hello up there! Are you admiring the Rain aswell?" She called, her smile still stuck on her face.

Snapping from her reverie, Archaic glanced down to spy the garnet pony below her, veiled in some variation of cloak. The species of the stranger was nigh impossible to ascertain from this height, but seeing as the mare was struggling to recall her face, and pretty much everypony of able ability had been called in to help with the weather, she doubted very much that this newcomer was a pegasus.
"Oh, hello!" She called cheerily, fluttering slightly lower so she could be heard more clearly over the ensuing downpour. "I helped to put these waterworks in motion today, but yes, it is rather awe-inspiring to view~" quickly explained the slate mare, wings beating rhythmically to keep her steady. Despite being completely sodden with rain, Arc looked barely any different; if anything, her tail was lacking its usual bounce, but the droplets on her already aqua-toned strands almost gave the illusion that her mane was formed from water! Or at least it might have done, to the imaginative pony. Sighing wistfully, the pegasus drew her attention back to her apparent companion, unaware that the wind was quietly tugging her forwards a little. In fact, she was so blissful that she didn't even notice the darker, charcoal cloud amongst the others.
The idle whoosh of the occasional pony above the layer of clouds should have caused her to take greater care. But if it was already raining, why should she have cause for concern? In fact, it wasn't until another, much louder whoosh-thump that her ears twitched, finally alerted. But it was too late. The mare's gaze whirled around only to see a blinding flash, an anguished cry escaping her as a searing, burning pain overwhelmed her. Suddenly vision-less, she flapped her wings violently, trying to counteract gravity as her body began to fall - but the lightning bolt had hit one of her feathered appendages, leaving it far weaker in strength, and meaning that the effort of moving it whilst injured quickly sent Arc's world into darkness.

The stallion came bursting out of the nearby radio station, marching emphatically onto the sidewalk as he barked aloud to an earpiece lodged in his rightmost , tapered lobe. " Yeah, you go ahead and tell that scumbag that my station is about entertainment, not one that puts ponies to sleep. " HH kept ambling past ponies of varying size and demeanor, uncaring of how loud his voice carried over the crowds as he kept up this persistent argument. Even with the downpour occurring on and around him, he didn't seem too phased.
" Uh-huh..yeah.." The male intoned boredly as the receiver attempted a retort in this verbal altercation. The tawny stallion's hooves rigidly paused as something poignant was said to him, earning a scowl and a roar of rebuttal, " MORE CLASS? THAT'S why you want to put a freakin' AUTHOR on my show? You think my listeners want to hear some stuck-up writer drone about some 'Of Mice and Mares' malarkey, trying to be a brooding and misunderstand intellectual and blah..and blah..and BLAH--NO, YOU, are being inconsiderate, Spin, trying to taint my air waves with this pseudo-smart bull--"
A sudden murmur of activity from the city ponies around him cut off his rambling, earning cessation from the once-workpony as he turned his gaze in the direction several individuals around him were pointing with their hooves. He was a bit stunned to see a lone pegasus, tumbling through the air and to an eventual demise on the unforgiving pavement below. " By Celestia's rump, is anypony going to do something?! Somepony catch her!!" Luckily for this descending, unconscious mare HH had an ability to switch thought processes posthaste, abandoning the conversation from before despite the stallion on the other end of his earpiece screaming some sort of obscenity.
When nopony reacted, he sighed and looked around in alarm for some -method- to stop the pegasus from becoming street pizza. He immediately noted a kiosk on wheels nearby, complete with a stretched out roof of fabric over it's window to shield it from the elements. He rushed over to it promptly, docking his shoulder to it's edge and shoving it towards the center of the street, attempting to tune out the cries of protest from the kiosk's owner. " I'm a radio personality, it's alright!"
Pursing his lips, he shot his attention back up to the quickly approaching, and disconcertingly limp form of the female coming towards the earth like a feathery meteor, using his forehooves to adjust the kiosk's placement as an impromptu landing pad for the mare.
He only hoped the consistency of that tarp upon the kiosk wouldn't rebound the pegasus into a building or something...

Quite happy to talk to the floating mare, Draco was forgetting how wet she was getting, her mane swiftly mimicking that of the slate pegasi above her, drooping itself around her face and across her eyes. It seems even her black veil could not protect her from the downpour that was cascading around her. Occasionally the female found herself flicking the dark red mess out of her eyes so that she could keep her blue eyes fixed on the Female above her. Due to her transfixed approach to the mare floating about of her, she too spotted the strike, almost jumping out of her skin when the electrical charge stuck the above filly.
Her eyes flashed to a fast acting stallion behind her, who had clearly formulated a plan to help already. Draco violently flicked her own head back to disperse the hood from her cranium, allowing her horn to have no clear obstructions, the last thing she wanted was her spell to catch that and fly back it its user. The red mare took a moment to catch a deep breath, refusing to get panicked about the situation, she would need a clear head for this.
Her horn began to glow and spark a bold bright green, the same colour quickly surrounding Arc. Whilst still keeping her eyes transfixed on the falling filly her spell started to take affect, hopefully slowing her down enough to land on the stallions kiosk canopy safely. She wasn't sure how effective this would be as the spell she was using she had only attempted a hoof full of times and well she was not sure how well this would end.

Perhaps the mare should have been paying greater attention to her surroundings, but it was a little late now. Dropping like a stone out of the sky, Archaic has absolutely no control over her own movements - even if the shock had been minor and her unconscious state wasn't due to last long. Her slightly scorched wing hung limply in the air, twitching slightly by the force of the wind - that wasn't helping her condition, either. It took mere seconds for the filly to drop the first half of the distance between her original position and the looming expanse of earth below her, but the pegasus' velocity was suddenly slowed as a pale, green aura engulfed her. It wasn't a total stop, but the force of Draco's magic was enough to lessen her momentum as if she had fallen from a far shorter height, or was considerably lighter.
Regardless, the slate toned mare still hit the canopy with enough speed to bounce ever so slightly - no more than an inch, but it was still a bounce, sending some of the rainwater that had collected atop the fabric over the side. The chill of the puddle seemed to kick her synapses back into gear, though, as a grey ear twitched into life. A vague rumble of noise that she could only assume to be whomever may have been around at the time began to cloud her hearing, and the pain at her wingjoint became numbed slightly by the cold, dulling down to a throb around her shoulder. Urgh... the mare barely realised that she wasn't even in the sky anymore. Without daring to even open her eyes, she let out a very quiet moan.
"Ow..."

At first perplexed at the sudden halo of magic enshrouding the descending pegasus, he eventually discerned the source was a nearby unicorn. His arrogance bristled a moment; he totally wanted all the glory of this rescue! Nonetheless, he kept a sparse distance as Archaic tumbled with...questionable safety against the buoyant canopy, startled awake by the frigid cold of the roof's puddle. The burly stallion flicked an ear, lips churning into a taut frown. She seemed conscious at the very least, but that might not remain true depending on how severe her injuries were...er, probably. Maybe. Actually, he didn't really know.
"You're welcome in advance for that quick thinking, " HH immediately crowed with unexpected haughtiness, brandishing a toothy smile as he proudly brought a hoof to his chest. " Without me, you woulda been a pegasus pancake." He notably failed to mention Draco's assistance, despite the unicorn offering an abundant amount of help in slowing Archaic's fall.

As Draco watched the slate mare fall, she felt a knot form in her stomach as at first the sharp speed of how the other mare was falling looked like her own magic had taken no affect, or even worse, Had sped her up. After a few moments however the emerald aura started to take affect and coupled with the Stallions previous quick thinking, they where able to make sue the Pegasus landed safely.
Her first thought was to go over and check the filly over, however when the mahogany colt started taking all of the credit for saving the other female, a small frown appeared on the crimson mare's face, coupled with a quickly appearing dissatisfied look. Did he just say what she thought he did? That Chauvinistic son of a- She began barging her way through the crowd that had now surrounded him, made more awkward by the fact they where all moving to get closer to him as well.
Eventually though she shoved that last pony aside, glaring up at the Colt, he was sizeable bigger than her yes but that did not mean she was going to let him be such a attention horse. She swiftly proceeded to sharply jab him in his chest with her fore hoof as soon as she was close enough, her bright blue eyes looking up at his own. "You Pompous, Egotistic, Self obsessed colt!" She growled, tacking a firmer stance now "May your ego like it or not, it wasn't just you who saved her, So don't you dare say otherwise"

The dull rumble began to ease slightly, noise clearing into the vague inflections of a lower, male tone. That accent... not that most ponies around here would call it an accent, but it was a very strong reminder that she was no longer in her home town. Her mind was struggling to translate the garbled mess that seemed to be bombarding her ears into full words, although even through the chaos, the mare picked out something higher-pitched and somewhat louder... somepony berating the other, by the sounds of it. Murmuring something inaudible, her slate muzzle lifted a slight, trying to better her hearing on whatever was going on beneath her.
"Please stop fighting," came a surprisingly feeble voice. Hm, that wasn't like her - well, not that weak, anyway. Perhaps speaking hadn't been her best idea. Blinking hard, the filly began to shakily pull herself up off the canvas, forehooves remaining flat to balance out her body weight. Glancing down to spy the fabric beneath her, it was only now that Arc fully realised where she was. That lightning bolt had managed to knock her straight out of the sky! She was kicking herself for not spotting that rogue cloud earlier - Archaic was usually known for her observational habits, and even with the rain, she should have been able to pick it out. Maybe if she had, the mare wouldn't be sitting on a kiosk with a weird, slightly burning pain running through her shoulder. Oh, that was right, she was hurt. "Ow! What on-?" She muttered, now intrinsically aware that the bridge of her wing was injured - the shock of the fall had managed to delay her reaction to the twitching nerves until now. A sharp hiss escaped her as her muzzle craned round, but she was unable to really inspect the damage for herself. Perhaps she would just have to avoid moving it for the time being, and hope that it would heal on its own.
Sighing, the mare decided to leave well enough alone with regards to her own welfare, instead peering over the side of the canopy to acknowledge her rescuers. Judging by the hoof being brandished towards the colt's chest, Arc assumed it had been him and the crimson filly she had heard arguing. Not that she'd deciphered anything particularly legible, but even muffled rows were easy to distinguish. A small smile did appear on her face, though - only dampened by a twitch as another pang shot through her shoulder - as she recognised the unicorn from her aerial drifting. She was quite thankful to see the mare had stuck around, really. Glancing between the pair of them through her dampened mane, the pegasus swallowed, trying to find the strength of voice she had lacked a few minutes previous.
"Thank you, both of you," Archaic smiled, trying to ignore her injury for now. Although as her gaze drifted downwards, another question flagged up in her mind. Without the ability to fly, how exactly was she going to reach the floor from here?

The burly stallion flinched at the hoof sharply jabbing into him, prompting a disconcerted pout as he lifted his own forehoof to rub at the aforementioned spot. " Whoah, whoah, whoah! Eaaasy on the goods, filly." He snorted defiantly. " Don't be making accusations you can't back up now! "
HH's aggravated expression diffused coolly with a similarly wry smile. " Far as I can tell, only somepony saved her. Don't see no plural tense there. " He gestured with a hoof towards himself, " And last time I checked, I'm a somepony. But you," That same limb lanced outward to prod against Draco's nose in a faint squish, then eased back and flicked the tip of her snout condescendingly. " Not so much." His smirk dropped into a coarse frown, and he waved her off with a dismissive twist of his bushy tail. " Now butt out, kid. Maybe see about gettin' that stick surgically removed from between your flanks."
The palomino turned dutifully back towards Archaic, whom he could now clearly see peeking over the canopy with mixed confusion and gratitude. " Hey, now don't you be thanking me, beautiful, " He cooed in what appeared to be a forced baritone ; he had to be as impressive as possible, after all! " I was just doing my civic duty and whatnot. Now, why don't you climb on down and we'll get you all fixed up?"
HH's stance perked itself into a stiff-backed posture, head loftily risen in a proud manner as he exposed his backside for her to clamber down onto.

She found herself more angry than she had been in months, an insanely strong urge to stab him with her horn quickly clouding her judgement. A growl escaped her throat, the sound immediately being followed by a swift stamp of her fore hoof. " You discourteous, coarse, insulting show pony. Just because you think you're some pony does not give any justification for how you're acting" She hissed, venom lacing each word carefully.
She had written books, Researched where other ponies fear to tread. She was a brilliant mind and demanded the respect that followed that more so than what this daft colt was providing and now he was insulting her!?
A feeling of spite let a sickeningly sweet smile escape her lips, her eyes lighting up slightly as a plan hatched in her mind. She followed him slightly, her tail swinging slightly. " Oh dont be so silly, A Somepony like you shouldn't let dirty hooves touch his flanks. Allow me. Please."
With that another green aura engulfed the slate filly above her, The simple spell of levitation that Draco had cast taking its effects. Soon she would feel lighter than even a Pegasus had ever felt before, the phrase weightless-ness being taking to new heights.

Had he just called her...? No, no, judging by his brazen demeanour, he probably addressed all fillies like that. The thought of getting her wing patched was appealing, though, especially as another quick spark was sent through her shoulder. Dammnit!
Watching the pair bicker would have almost been entertaining, had the row not centred on herself. For the most part, Arc desperately avoided confrontation, and being in the middle of one was definitely not her ideal situation. As grateful for being rescued as she was, these two needed to be derailed. Immediately. What the filly hadn't been expecting, however, was for the stallion to offer his backside as a kind of step down. And even moreso, for Draco to begin levitating her! A sharp yelp escaped her maw as she felt her body being raised off the canvas the mare had been so settled on, front hooves flailing slightly.
"Wh-what!? W-wait, I- !" Stammered the pegasus. Whilst being aflight was a feeling she was quite used to, it wasn't her own wings in control of this movement; such a sensation was just too strange, and frightening to say the least! "Please put me down!"
Unable to break the magic herself, Archaic tried to calm down a little, freezing in the air as she tentatively waited to be placed somewhere. Anxiety caused a wary glance over to the stallion, then back to the unicorn, as she hoped the helpful - although forthright - mare wouldn't drop her.

" Yeah, unicorn, " HH snarled audaciously, still conveying a venomous and obviously fake smile as he hiked his forehooves up, grabbing the levitating Archaic around a backhoof and yanking assertively. " Let the FILLY go with somepony who has a bit of class. " It was evident he wasn't about to let this chance at glory slip through his hooves, even if it meant playing tug of war in front of a crowd of ponies staring in discomfort at the event.
An afterthought occurred to him: he really should be using this as potential press for the show! Him, saving an injured pegasus with a snotty unicorn attempting to take his well deserved limelight. It would make him look like a saint!

As she felt her magic being fought against, the red mare had to close her eyes. A stabbing like pain shooting from her head all throughout her body. It was unbearable, she had to let go. Letting the magic drop was easy but that was not the end of the matter, the pain did not seem to fade. Rubbing her own horn with a fore hoof she, looked up at the stallion, her own vision now slightly blurred.
About to protest the mare inhaled, taking a step forwards so aid in her verbal attack. Instead however she found herself exhaling in a sigh, looking down and to her side shaking her head ever so lightly. She just couldn't be bothered wit this any more, after all, Arc was saved and didn't seem too hurt. Shaking her head she took several steps back, looking back up at the limp, slate female that was now held in the stallion's hooves.
She now felt physically weak, her own legs almost like twigs under her weight. It didn't make sense, she had fought off worse than that before, what was wrong with her? Maybe it was made worse by the fact she hadn't been sleeping properly? She couldn't be sure. For now all she new was that she needed to get away from here before he made another remark about her.

The mare let out a 'whu-' as she felt her weight drop, undamaged wing fluttering by instinct to try and steady herself. Needless to say, the action didn't help much, and Arc landed with a soft thud - just a little shaken up. Trying to ignore the jolt at her shoulder, the slate-toned pegasus slowly shifted to the side, trying to put just the tiniest slither of distance between herself and the colt. As grateful as she was for the rescue, she barely knew a thing about him, or even the unicorn whom he'd been rowing with. Glancing over to the crimson mare in question, Archaic couldn't help but notice that something seemed... off.
"Are you alright?" She asked, a concerned expression on her maw. Despite her own injuries, the least she could do was ask. "P-perhaps we should move on. Uh, does anypony know- urk- the closest hospital? Or a nurse?"
It was partly towards the stallion that her question had been posed to, since he seemed like the most likely candidate to know the area. Whether that was true or not, she'd have to see. Right now, however, she couldn't exactly stick around to keep these two from barking at each other - so best for both Draco and herself to get checked over.
((Not sure whether you gais have anything to add. Post if ya do - if not, I'll close this up~))
