Esperanza caught up to him and gave him a gentle nudge and smiled softly. "It is alright Littlehorn. A steady pace is all I need," she nodded and looked towards the town. "Besides, it does not look that far and having that bit of a rest and some apples, I am fine."
She moved ahead of him a bit, keeping to a steady pace, one where it would be easy on her tired body.

Littlehorn nodded as the mare spoke, watching her hooffalls as she just about passed him. Her pace was slow, that was true, but it looked as if her hooves were steady upon the ground. He could relax a little. Trotting slowly beside her, the buffadeer sent her a smile.
"Somepony will probably have a place you can stay in Appleloosa. I think there might be an inn, actually." He explained, trying to keep the conversation going. Last thing they needed was to drift into silence, especially with Esperanza still weary. His attention was caught, however, by the sand again. The wind was pulling it just about high enough to mask his grey hooves, and quickly gaining speed. Looked like a sandstorm was on its way. Turning to the unicorn, Littlehorn tried to usher her along, "we need to keep moving. The wind is getting stronger, and we don't want to get caught out in this."

Esperanza was thankful for the company to the town. If it were not for hi being there, she would not have known about the town. She relaxed, finding the conversation with him to be calming and the birds were also nice.
"I hope they will accept me working there to pay for a room as I have no money," she said a bit sadly. She knew she had the horn ring from her mother, but there was no way in heck she was going to pawn that off for some money. She'd rather chop off her horn before she ever sold the ring. She noticed the sand as well and nodded with his words. "I know how they can be, we had them in Albuckquerque as well."
Her pace quickened a bit, not a full trot, but it was as fast as she would move without pushing herself in her state.

The buffadeer matched her pace, glances darting between the mare and the rolling dust at their hooves. The breeze hissed in his ears, sending a shiver down Littlehorn's spine. It was gaining momentum. And as those who travelled dusty plains knew well, momentum meant more danger. The faster the wind moved, the more sediment got picked up by the force of it - the buffadeer's legs were actually becoming slightly battered by now.
"I don't think that'd be unreasonable." He smiled, trying to seem encouraging and keep his mind off the sands. "I would help, but I don't carry bits, since I don't really venture into the town all that often." It wasn't something that he admitted on a regular basis, but alas, it did ring true. The ponies of Appleloosa were friendly enough, but he still preferred to stay away. He just felt safer that way.

Kept her pace to keep going to make it to the town before the dust storm grew larger. She herself was getting battered, but she kept going. She gave a smile to the buffadeer's words and nodded.. "Gracias," she said, then looked up a moment. "We will have to make a run for it I guess."
She knew she had to at least try a run and gathering what strength she had, she broke into a canter that was convient for her. She hoped he'd be able to keep up with her, but it shouldn't be too hard.

Surprised at her sudden burst of energy, Littlehorn found himself practically chasing the mare towards Appleloosa, her white tail taking up most of his plane of vision. It didn't take the young one long to catch her up, though, considering her condition and his relatively light build. The sands seemed to make less of an impact whilst moving - perhaps because he was concentrating on his hooves - which helped to speed him along a little. Eventually matching Esperanza's pace, the tan adolescent glanced over to her.
"Feeling better?" He laughed nervously, trying to keep the atmosphere between them light-hearted. He always struggled to keep a conversation going, even with his own kin, let alone the ponies he knew next to nothing about. "We're almost there now, d'ya need me to guide you or will you be alright on your own?"
It was a slightly more bold offer for him, but Littlehorn couldn't help but worry over her safety. As much as he was a stranger to ponyfolk, that didn't mean he would just leave her lost in the town. It was up to Esperanza's own judgement whether or not she needed him to stick around. And besides, it was only Appleloosa - he'd been here a few times now, and could just about cross the sleepy western town without bolting for his beloved plains.

Esperanza kept up her pace, wanting to make it to the town before the storm got worse. She had been warned about being out in sand storms and to never run during one, but she was near a town and to get there would mean safety from it. She glanced over towards the buffadeer a moment and grinned with his question.
"Si, feeling a better better mi amigo," she said, though kept going. "Stay with me...please?"
She did not have any friends here, so the buffadeer would be comfort for her while she became acquainted with the town. Once the outskirts of the town were seen, she put on one last burst of speed, reaching the town and ducking between two buildings to escape the swirling sands.

He would've ducked his head, but the sheer force of trying to run at the same time stopped him from doing so. It was probably a good thing, too, else he might not have been looking up when Esperanza spurted forwards! With a squeak of surprise, the little buffadeer kicked his hooves into high gear, trying to match her pace again. She was quite fast when she wanted to be! A sandy gust of wind whirled past his ears just before he reached the shelter of Appleloosa's buildings, signalling the arrival of the aforementioned sandstorm. It wasn't a huge one, though, much to his surprise. Perhaps he'd just been a little... over sensitive to the signs of nature today. Regardless, they were both safe now. Glancing over the mare beside him, he wondered where exactly she was planning to go. Was her destination Appleloosa, or was it further in?
"I-I'll stay with you," he smiled though, firstly acknowledging her request. It was only polite, after all. "Um... I don't really know anypony but I kinda know my way around. Are you alright, though? We should find you someplace to stay..." He trailed off, thinking as his gaze scanned the sleepy town. The inn-saloon-place was obviously their first port of call, since he was pretty sure there were rooms there. After that? Well, maybe they should get something to eat. Not that he had any bits. Actually, that would cause quite a problem. Littlehorn didn't usually come into Appleloosa for anything, or at least prepared himself if he absolutely needed to. Maybe he could run some errands whilst Esperanza was resting. There were probably ponies about who needed help with stuff.
A brief shake of his head knocked the dust out from the crook of his antlers, puffing up his coat slightly. He felt a little bad for having to leave his feathery friends back in the sandstorm, but they had weathered many before, and hopefully wouldn't begrudge him having to leave. Birds were usually forgiving creatures.

Esperanza settled her rump on the ground once she had reached the safetly of the buildings. She took in deep breaths to calm her racing heart, but she nodded to Littlehorn's words that he'd stay with her. "Gracias, thank you," she said and looked about a moment and nodded. "I am sure we will find someplace."
She stood for a moment and shook her body and head, getting the sand and dust from her body, mane and tail, before settling once more beside him. "I just hope that I will be able to work for my board since I have no bits to pay for a room or food."

Littlehorn nodded along to her words, glancing around the town. The storm seemed to be mostly affecting the plains, rather than Appleloosa itself. They should be alright to cross over the street.
"C'mon, nearly there now," he smiled, moving slightly out towards the saloon. "Once we get you in, you can rest!" The buffadeer was being slightly hopeful, he supposed, but what else could he do? Luckily, Esperanza seemed to have the right idea about working for board and lodgings, but he could do some of that for her. It was about time he started getting to know the ponies around here, anyway... Uh, yeah. He'd just keep telling himself that.
"I hope the run didn't wear ya out too much." Littlehorn added, shaking his antlers again as he waited for her. Dang, that sand had gotten everywhere! He was used to being caught out in the dust, but this was insane, especially considering that they hadn't been out in it long. Maybe he'd need to go for a good river bath, later.

Esperanza caught her breath from the run they had, her body screaming at her, but she ignored it. She had run that long before, but not really when she was that tired. She smiled softly at the buffadeer's words and nodded.
"Si...once in the cantina(saloon), rest will be at hand," she said and stood to follow him. She was glad she had met Littlehorn, he was a friend already to her.
She chuckled with his words and shook her head a little, a bit of the dust escaping her mane. "I will be fine mi amigo. If I hadn't run that fast, we would have been stuck in that storm longer than neccessary." She glanced around the town a moment and saw the saloon. She hoped the saloon keeper would allow her to work for her room and food until she had enough bits for herself.

"Yeah, the saloon's probably the best place to head..." The buffadeer agreed quietly, his gaze drifting over the town. He was on the edge of his comfort zone here, but Esperanza had asked him to say, so he would. Smiling back to the snowy-maned mare, he began a calm but steady trot towards the Appleloosan building. "Let's get you all rested up, first!"
Since he was pretty sure that Esperanza wouldn't have trouble following any more, Littlehorn moved off a little further than he had before. He wanted to stay out in the open for as short a period as possible - his kin weren't exactly well known to everypony, even if they did live in the plains nearby, and his very appearance still drew attention at times. The saloon was only across the street, so the duo should have been able to skip across without much trouble... and he'd try to stay somewhat subtle whilst looking for errands later. It was one thing to search for work and another to draw attention. At least, he hoped - last thing he needed was for the locals to go crazy and think him some strange monster. They knew of the buffalo in the plains, though, so that probably wouldn't happen... right?

Esperanza nodded to he buffadeer's words and followed towards the saloon. She had no problems around them, since she had been in some herself, mainly for candle deliveries, but she knew her way around them, but knew some were different. She'd stick close to Littlehorn's side to help him feel better about being there, but she was glad he had stayed with her.
Once at the saloon, she looked around a moment before stepping inside. It was busy, full of ponies who had probably been in there before the sand storm kicked up and perhaps some that had even ducked in there to escape the sand storm. She glanced around a moment before walking in further.

Following the mare was all he could really think to do. Right now, his concern was her welfare, although she seemed to be coping all right for the time being. She quite easily passed him, actually, so trotting after her was the best course of action to take. Considering the trek they'd had through the plains to get to the town, crossing the street took no time at all - not to mention the town was nigh empty due to the sandstorm not a few minutes previous.
Pushing through the saloon doors behind her, Littlehorn tried to keep his head low. Antlers were just one of the many things that could draw attention to a creature like himself, and brandishing them high to the ponies was not a good idea. Instead, he skipped closely to Esperanza, almost hiding behind her from the majority of the bar's customers.
"Um, excuse me." He inquired, a soft tone to his voice as he attempted to address the bartender. "I don't suppose you might have a spare room for my friend."
((Feel free to control the pony behind the bar XDD))

((okie))
Esperanza glanced towards the bar a moment, then looked towards Littlehorn a moment. She was glad for his company. A few of the ponies turned to look at the pair, some heads tilted, but then some looked back to whatever they had been doing.
She walked towards the bar and took a seat and watched as the bartender came over to them with Littlehorn's question. The stallion looked him over a moment and then looked towards Esperanza.
"We have one room for rent," he said and nodded. "Five bits per night."
"I...I have a little dilema senor. Would it be possoble for me to work for my board?" she asked and began to fear the worst. "You see, I have no bits."
"No bits eh?" he asked and looked her over a moment. "Can you serve food?"
"Si. I can serve food," she said. "I can also sing and dance."
The bartender went silent for a moment as he thought, rubbing his hoof on his chin. He glanced around at the bar a moment, then back to them.
"Alright. You can start in the morning. Whatever tips you get are yours to keep. You start at nine in the morning. If you get a break and wish to entertain, you can," he said and then looked towards Littlhorn a moment. "What of your friend here?"
